Debbie Wuliger . Lumen Art Studio

Welcome to Lumen Art Studio and home of Winking Moon Art Adventures. I am a painter who shares my home studio with children and adults. I enjoy both my quiet time to paint and the liveliness of creating with others.

Finding My Way with Paint is a blog page that charts my artistic journey into the wilds of oil painting. As the paintings are completed I display them in the Gallery along with my
drawings and the Goddesses I created for a choral piece called the Goddess Suite.

The Winking Moon pages hold all the studio school information for children's classes along with a gallery of their work.

Information about the Uncovering the Artist Within workshop is found in the Workshop page.  This
workshop, using the book The Artist Way by Julia Cameron, allows adults to blast through creative blocks that are holding them back from the creative life they are looking for.

As I painter, I like to engage communities in the
creative painting process by painting a mural together.  You can see the murals that have been created by visiting the Murals page.  There you will also find a step by step guide explaining the process.

Enjoy browsing the site.
I would love to hear from you!

Standing Gaurd
charcoal, wax, graphite on paper

This is a drawing I did during a workshop at the Carrack Gallery in downtown Durham.  Janet Shaughnessy was holding an exhibition there and for a week opened up the gallery for us to learn new ways of seeing and making marks.
It was a rich experience.  My favorite was using the wax to make lines and then bringing these "invisible" lines up by rubbing charcoal or graphite over them.
